This time I had time to take refuge from within the pyramid itself in order to shoot the building from the inside. I like the mix of modern and classic architecture in that picture. Once again, no tripod for I had just been told off by the warden who’d warned me as I was wiping off my lens with the camera still mounted on it: “I know you lot photographers and your tricks in order to take pictures from within the building with a tripod” he had said. I believe in a democracy, no one – even the State, chiefly the State – should ever be granted the right of possessing the pictures of public monuments.
