Thanks Heide, it’s a typical renaissance pattern in fact, such as you can see in Italy. Even though I only saw them in books on in other buildings in France. Look at the second picture from the left. Plus the perspective is a tale-telling sign too. Now, to be precise, the date says 1561 so that means renaissance in France where it happened later than Italy (François I having brought it from his wars in Italy around 1500-20).
