Faith Capsule
St Joseph is one of Auguste Perret‘s masterpieces. Some find it ugly, because it’s all made of concrete. Despite the fact that his work was determining in order to rate the city a Unesco World heritage site. It’s all a matter of perspective. So I went right underneath the spire of St Joseph to provide a rather unusual shot that shows the amazing structure of the place. Better than 3D design.

It’s said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Yann — and through your eyes St. Joseph’s spire is certainly made beautiful.
Thanks Heide, I genuinely think it *is* beautiful. People have this idea about concrete when in fact the Romans invented it and were using it all the time. The design of that church is simply beautiful. Apart from that I also advise you to visit le Théâtre des Champs Elysées (despite the name it’s not on the Champs Elysées), built around the 1920s by the same architect. Stunningly beautiful.
