I Want To Ride My Bicycle

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike… I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like!

Bicycle race isn’t probably Queen’s best song, but as I was a young man when I bought that record I still remember it. Besides, I do ride my Brommie a lot. Somebody suggested I took pictures of it on my way to work, so I tried my brand new Nikon Z7 and tested it to the limit with handheld shots in low light at very low speed. The result wasn’t that bad. Here at Place de Furstenberg, supposedly the most expensive real estate in the City of light.

That one on the Pont Neuf. I liked that picture very much but as I asked my readers to vote for their preferred picture, this one didn’t cut the mustard. Too touristy in their eyes I suppose.

The Académie Française and Le Pont des Arts. I was afraid little Bommie would fall in the water but it didn’t. The voters didn’t fall for it either.

Pont du Carroussel, opposite the Louvre. Not a chance. I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike... I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like!

Took me a while to figure out what the background was but I think it’s the Pont Neuf again. Not a winner either.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike... I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like!

Musée d’Orsay at the only time of day when there is no 2-mile long queue outside the entrance of the museum. This one was my first try, not the best shot.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike... I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like!
I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike… I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like!

And the winner is… the river bank opposite the musée d’Orsay down below the Tuileries gardens. My voters thought this was the only one with human beings on it and that it looked better because of that. Well, you tell me.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike... I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like!

Anyway, Happy New Year to you!
