Lenotre’s terrace in Saint Germain en Laye (HDR)

I lived in Saint Germain-en-Laye for years on end and I will always be in love with that beautiful town, which used to be home to the Kings of France (François I, Henri IV, Louis XIV who was even born there and a few others). The Terrace, created by André Le Nôtre from 1669 to 1673 is famous, even though its beautiful century-old lime trees were felled in 1999, and the new ones (left) are still very small. You can imagine how beautiful that place used to be before that. It provides a view over the valley of the Seine  and Paris.
