Works like\u00a0<em>A Bigger Splash<\/em>\u00a0(1967 right, source : <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?curid=4214938\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wikipedia Fair use<\/a>) distilled California leisure into flat, sun-drenched planes of turquoise and white, contrasting the frozen violence of the splash against the stillness of the surrounding scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hockney was fascinated by the visual challenge water presents: its transparency, reflections, and constant movement. Using acrylic paint, he developed a distinctive graphic language of rippled lines and bold colour fields.
