Doing differently: adapting to the snow storm<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Snow has been falling heavily for the past few days and it\u2019s even worsened today. Merely poking my head over the balcony and I could see young students from the school next door moving across the street and throwing snowballs at each other. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our Church from the 1920s looks even more like a mosque in Anatolia right now.\u00a0The streets are blanketed in snow. The question now is how will I be able to go to school tomorrow? And will I find many students in class?<\/p>\n

We missed the white Christmas but we have a snowy start of the year\u00a02026.<\/p>\n

\"doing<\/a>
Birds too are bound to be doing things differently as tree branches might somewhat become a bit slippery.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

And now a bit of wintery poetry by the aptly named Robert Frost<\/a><\/p>\n

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening<\/h4>\n

Whose woods these are I think I know.
\nHis house is in the village though;
\nHe will not see me stopping here
\nTo watch his woods fill up with snow.<\/p>\n

My little horse must think it queer
\nTo stop without a farmhouse near
\nBetween the woods and frozen lake
\nThe darkest evening of the year.<\/p>\n

He gives his harness bells a shake
\nTo ask if there is some mistake.
\nThe only other sound\u2019s the sweep
\nOf easy wind and downy flake.<\/p>\n

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
\nBut I have promises to keep,
\nAnd miles to go before I sleep,
\nAnd miles to go before I sleep.<\/p>\n

Robert Frost<\/a> was an acclaimed American poet born in San Francisco in 1874 and raised in New England.\u00a0He gained fame for rural-themed works like \u2018Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening\u2019 after publishing in England in 1913, then returned to the U.S. to teach and win four Pulitzer Prizes.\u00a0Frost died in Boston in 1963, leaving a legacy of colloquial verse exploring nature and human complexity.<\/p>\n

<\/article>\n
Granted, we are bit far from the woods and frozen lakes here, but in the Middle Ages we weren\u2019t. The nearby metro station named \u2018glaci\u00e8re\u2019 (cool storage literally) is even reminiscent of these times when people would come around here to collect ice from the frozen creek.<\/article>\n
