The <a href=\"https:\/\/antimuseum.com\/en\/2021\/12\/05\/port-royal-abbey-in-paris\/\">Abbey<\/a> stands at the top of the island, 350 stairs up, dating as far back as\u00a0the 10th century. Called the <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/80\">&#8216;Wonder of the West&#8217;<\/a>, located between Brittany and Normandy, it is definitely worth a visit.<\/p>\n<p>If the historical factors aren&#8217;t reason enough to visit, the beauty of this place should be. Not just the buildings, but the plant and animal wildlife, and views of the French countryside here will leave you speechless.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"Mont saint Michel.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/antimuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/mont-saint-michel.jpg?resize=1000%2C667\" alt=\"Mont saint Michel\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tide at Mont St Michel is said to be faster than a galloping horse. Of course, it\u2019s an exaggeration but you could be easily trapped in the bay and get drowned. More and more people have been visiting each year to bask in the vast beauty of everything it has to offer. The record for tourists in one day was on August 18, 2022, when 36,000 tourists went.<\/p>\n<p>On Ascension weekend in 2023, over 33,000 tourists visited Mont St Michel.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In less than four hours, we sold 10,500 tickets for the Abbey, which had never happened before<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/fr-fr\/voyage\/actualite\/le-mont-saint-michel-vers-une-fr\u00e9quentation-record-en-2023\/ar-AA1bzEOs\">Thomas Velter<\/a>, Director General of Public Institution in charge of managing the monument<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is great to see so many people understand the beauty of this historical site, but it is getting worrisome. They are beginning to fear for the safety of tourists as they come in such large groups. On Ascension day, the site was becoming so jammed they had to take a break pausing any bus trips for two hours.\u00a0They have multiplied the authority in the Mount in an effort to keep it safe and keep everyone happy.<a title=\"View 'antimuseum.com-rivapaques-5376' on Flickr.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/yag\/14007379116\"><br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"antimuseum.com-rivapaques-5376\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2927\/14007379116_8b68aacee2_h.jpg?resize=1000%2C1498&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"antimuseum.com-rivapaques-5376\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1498\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Mont St Michel in Portions<\/h3>\n<p>Much like these photos showing small portions of the divine beauty, there need to be smaller portions of tourists on daily visits to Mont St Michel. Yes, you should go, but when is a good question? One of the pictures is focused on the skies and one on the sheep and the grass. I ended up keeping both as I couldn\u2019t choose between the two.
