<\/em>You don’t need to go to the other end of the world to be able to discover new things, exploring the world can take place at your doorstep. That was the challenge Ben Huberman launched in the good old days of the <\/em>Daily Post Photo challenge<\/em><\/a>. Such is my plight as I can’t travel anymore; I have to roam around the same city over and over again. Much as I’d like to discover the beauties of Uzbekistan and other parts of the beautiful world, I can find solace in those remnants of exoticism and, frankly, no carbon emissions needed, just pumping up the old Brompton tyres. Anyway, it\u2019s so hot over here you’d feel you have landed in the South of Tunisia.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploring the World Around Us (Out of this World)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The E.N.A (National School of Administration) in Paris is located in the former buildings of the so-called “Colonial School”. Fig trees and Moorish buildings would give you the impression that you are out of this part of the world, in Algeria [Sept 2017]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saint Dominique is a church that is, literally, on my doorstep. No need to travel to the Middle East; Istanbul is within easy reach. Come what may, I could also have a chit chat with one of the Turkish tailors next door. This reminds me I need to ask one of them to mend this jacket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Dominique is a church which was built in 1914. Wrong timing it was, for sure. The builders had to put down their tools and resume work in 1921. The all-concrete Byzantine church would make you think you are in Constantinople.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This boat appears to be moored in a remote southern port. However, it\u2019s actually a barge on the Seine River. [2017]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
