There is this new trend in Paris whereby Wallace fountains are painted all kinds of colours (above, Poterne des Peupliers in a yet to be inaugurated new housing development - use Streetview to get back in time). Sir Richard must be turning in his grave. Below is a very apt red version in Chinatown.
I wanted to take a few pictures of the stunning fountains on the Place de La Concorde a few weeks ago, but when I got there I realised there was no water. The statues were covered in scale and this was creating a very special effect which looked particularly good in black & white
It's a bit like a leitmotif, I like this fountain and its horses and the rest of its menagerie. This time, and aged snapshot taken at high speed (1/640 sec to be precise) which (virtually) froze the water. Full details page click here.
