un dimanche à la campagne (HDR)

As I am constantly experimenting with HDR these days… I suppose that eventually, I’ll be on to something. Here is a shot I took last week-end in Château Thierry, a small town in south Picardy, which went through several phases of destruction in 1870, 1914-1918 and last but not least 1940-1944. Last Sunday was memorial day, a day of tribute to our American friends, many of whom died in our poppy fields unfortunately. Regardless, the site is still amazingly beautiful and romantic, by the ruins of the medieval castle. I took this picture as jet planes were drawing patterns up in the sky and the sunshine was turning the grass into a show of light and movement. Isn’t life beautiful?
