
The room (little red brick builking) is nearly all that’s left of the Chateau neuf, a 16-17th century Royal residence which was dismantled after the revolution. This room is supposed to be the one where Louis XIV was born in 1638. In its place you now have a restaurant; the view over the river from the terrace, 340ft above sea-level, is compelling. May 2013.
