Emile Deutsch de la Meurthe is an Alsatian entrepreneur who helped build the International students’ housing progamme (Cité Universitaire) in Paris in the 1920s. This part of the “Cité” is named after him. It made me think I was back in Kent, looking at an English mansion. A very nice place indeed for students to live and study. Lucky bastards! January 2014.
