Cloud computing data center shots

A series of pictures taken from Orange Cloud for Business’ Normandy data center. As Orange is my client all the pictures are watermarked with their French hosting Website. Plenty of opportunities for great pictures in such a building. All shots taken in manual mode with my lightweight Nikon D7000 and my favourite 1962 Nikkor 35mm f:2.8 fixed lens.

Not So Medieval Castle

Auvers sur Oise: I found that mock castle so funny I couldn’t miss it. And I like the way the 3 windows above the entrance were laid out on the façade. A drawbridge and barbican as well as a portcullis would have done nicely by the way.

Ouistreham (B&W)

Ouistreham, from “oyster” and “ham”, Saxon for “village”. There are no more oysters but there are still a lot of (anglo)saxons around there nowadays. They come from Portsmouth via Brittany Ferries (below), a company founded by a Breton gentleman by the name of Gourvennec (yet, not a relative of mine unfortunately).

By the river Marne (HDR)

The River Marne is very scenic. It used to be home to the “guinguettes”, 19th-early 20th century riverside cafés where people could drink the “guinguet” a cheap local wine, which no longer exists. Its quality may not have stood today’s tests I believe.
