Chana Orloff’s open air exhibition

Just before lockdown no.2 (and 3 and 4 etc.), we were lucky enough to visit Chana Orloff’s exhibition. It took place right outside her workshop, Villa Seurat, in the fourteenth district of Paris. I was able to get inside and take pictures of the workshop, now turned into a museum. Tribunal of something I can’t understand

This building was some sort of tribunal for petty crimes. As the French judiciary system is so utterly complex and opaque, I won’t really be able to explain. The good news is that the “tribunal d’instance” were dismantled in 2020 and merged into another incomprehensible body of judges called “tribunal de grande instance”, the aim of which escapes me completely.
